A Former RUF Headliner Returns: Armando Murillo vs. Anthony Camacho at RUF 71
One man headlined RUF eight years ago. The other has made the drive from El Paso three times and wants his first pro win.
PHOENIX, AZ, October 14, 2026. Armando Murillo headlined RUF twice. At RUF 21 in 2017 he stopped Daviante Jones in 58 seconds. At RUF 29 in 2018 he headlined again. Now he comes back to the RUF cage for RUF 71: Dia de Los Muertos against Anthony Camacho of El Paso at a 180-pound catchweight.
The Returning Headliner
Murillo (4-4, 1 NC) fights out of Punisher MMA in Calexico, California, and came up on border cards in Mexicali. All three of his stoppage wins came in the first round. He has fought as heavy as 205, so 180 is a big cut and a statement about the shape he is in. His last fight was at Cage Warriors in San Diego in 2022.
The El Paso Grinder
Camacho fights out of Zen Martial Arts in El Paso, Texas. He won his amateur debut in the RUF cage at RUF 40 by TKO in 53 seconds. He made his pro debut at RUF 57 against Zane Darlington and returned at RUF 64. Both nights went the wrong way. He keeps coming back to Phoenix anyway. At 6'0" he gives Murillo an inch.

Where the Fight Is Won
Neither of these men goes to the judges much. Murillo finishes early with his hands or a choke. Camacho's best weapon may be the front headlock, the position that has beaten Murillo before. Expect it to end early.
