Every promotion says it builds fighters for the next level. RUF Nation proves it. On Saturday, July 18, 2026, three men who cut their teeth in the RUF cage step onto the sport's biggest stage at UFC Oklahoma City, and Arizona MMA has every reason to stand up and take notice. Ezra Elliot makes his UFC debut. Tommy "Gun" McMillen returns for his second walk to the Octagon. And Jose Miguel Delgado, a RUF pro-debut alum turned rising UFC contender, headlines the preliminary card. Three products of the Southwest fight scene, one RUF bloodline, one massive night.

This is what the RUF cage is for. It is the proving ground where local prospects turn into finished fighters, and all three of these men wrote signature chapters of their stories under the RUF banner before the UFC came calling.

Ezra Elliot: The RUF Champion Makes His UFC Debut

Ezra Elliot walks into the Octagon for the first time with a perfect 7-0 record and a resume that reads like a highlight reel. He has finished every single one of his professional opponents, five by submission and two by TKO. Nobody has heard the final bell across from Ezra Elliot, and that is not luck. It is a grappler's clinic executed over and over again.

Elliot's grappling pedigree is elite. He was an Illinois state wrestling champion in 2019, then translated that base into the no-gi world, winning an ADCC Open where he submitted the ADCC East Coast Trials champion and also beat an EBI champion along the way. When a wrestler with that kind of submission game turns pro in MMA, opponents run out of safe places to be.

RUF fans already know the ending, because they watched him write it. At RUF 65 in Phoenix on November 1, 2025, Elliot captured the RUF featherweight championship in devastating fashion, submitting De'Aundre Tipton by rear-naked choke at just 1:33 of the first round. He backed it up at RUF 68 with a dominant TKO of Ashton Caniglia, landing his first takedown 20 seconds in and never letting his opponent off the mat. Champion, finisher, and now UFC fighter.

The call to the UFC came on short notice, and Elliot took it without blinking, stepping in on just a few days' notice to make his debut against Damien Anderson. That is the mark of a fighter who has been ready for this moment his entire career. A perfect record, a finishing instinct, and a RUF title on the mantel. The kid from the RUF cage is exactly where he always said he would be.

Tommy "Gun" McMillen: Back for Round Two in the Octagon

If Ezra Elliot is the new arrival, Tommy "Gun" McMillen is the RUF alum already making noise at the top. The undefeated featherweight rides a spotless 10-0 record into UFC Oklahoma City for his second UFC appearance, and he could not have picked a better way to announce himself at this level.

McMillen's path is a Southwest MMA story through and through. A two-time Montana state wrestling champion out of Great Falls, he made his way to Arizona and now trains alongside some of the sport's biggest names, working with coach Tim Welch and former UFC champion Sean O'Malley. That wrestling base and that room full of high-level talent show up every time the cage door closes behind him.

The RUF chapter of his story is a clinic in finishing. At RUF 62 on April 26, 2025, McMillen submitted Dumar Roa by rear-naked choke, one more polished performance on a resume built for the next level. From there he earned his UFC contract with a win on Dana White's Contender Series over David Mgoyan, then made his official Octagon debut a statement, stopping Manolo Zecchini by strikes at 3:57 of the first round earlier this year.

Now the level goes up again. McMillen meets fellow undefeated prospect Alberto Montes in a classic striker-versus-grappler showdown on the UFC Oklahoma City main card. Montes brings a four-fight win streak and a submission of Ricky Turcios in his own UFC debut, so nothing about this is a gift. It is exactly the kind of fight a RUF-forged competitor wants: two unbeaten prospects, prime real estate on the card, and everything to prove.

Jose Miguel Delgado: The RUF Pro Debut That Turned Into a UFC Run

Ezra Elliot and Tommy McMillen show where the RUF pipeline starts. Jose Miguel Delgado shows where it can lead. The Yuma, Arizona featherweight launched his professional career under the RUF banner, and tonight he steps into the Octagon as a proven UFC contender riding an 11-2 overall record and a 3-1 mark inside the UFC.

Delgado is a finisher with variety. A switch-stance striker who sharpened his tools at The MMA Lab, he mixes cracking knees and punches with a submission game that shows up the moment an opponent panics. That style earned him his UFC contract on Dana White's Contender Series with a highlight-reel knee knockout, and it has carried him to Octagon wins over Connor Matthews, Hyder Amil, and Andre Fili.

Tonight Delgado headlines the UFC Oklahoma City preliminary card against Austin Bashi, who arrives with a gaudy 14-1 record of his own. It is the featured prelim for a reason: two dangerous featherweights, both hunting a finish, with real momentum on the line. For RUF Nation, Delgado is the proof of concept. A fighter who started in the RUF cage and turned it into a legitimate UFC run.

Why This Matters for RUF Nation

Promotions across the country talk about being a launchpad. RUF Nation is living proof. Ezra Elliot won a RUF title in Phoenix and is now a UFC fighter. Tommy McMillen ran through RUF competition on his way to a perfect record and a spot on a UFC main card. Jose Delgado started his pro career in the RUF cage and turned it into a multi-fight UFC run. These are not fighters who passed through. These are fighters RUF helped build, tested against real competition, and sent to the sport's highest level ready to win.

For every prospect currently grinding in the RUF cage, this is the blueprint drawn in real time. Show up, finish fights, take the title, and the biggest stage in the sport is closer than it looks. Arizona's premier MMA league keeps producing the next wave, and on Saturday night three of its finest carry the RUF banner into the Octagon.
