New Main Event: Amari Sengsavanh vs. Kurtis Ellis Headlines RUF 70
Pro bantamweight main event. RUF's own rising finisher defends home turf against a well-traveled veteran.
PHOENIX, AZ · August 28, 2026 · A new main event tops RUF 70: LEGENDS, and it is a beauty. RUF's own rising finisher Amari Sengsavanh (8-1) faces well-traveled veteran Kurtis "The Outcast" Ellis (3-9) in a pro bantamweight headliner. Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix. One man defends home turf under the bright lights, the other comes to spoil it.
The Hometown Finisher: Amari Sengsavanh
Amari Sengsavanh built his reputation the honest way. The Phoenix bantamweight opened his professional career with a long win streak, most by finish, showing off both his hands and his squeeze, and his arm-triangle choke is a genuine weapon. RUF fans have seen him before, and he has sharpened his tools training alongside elite company in the Phoenix area. He suffered the first loss of his career earlier this year and answered the only way finishers do, by getting back in camp and booking a main event. A finisher with something to prove, headlining in front of a home crowd, is a dangerous man.
The Outcast: Kurtis Ellis
Kurtis Ellis has been everywhere the tough regional circuit can take a fighter. The Lincoln, Nebraska veteran is a well-traveled pro with a long, battle-tested career and plenty of cage time against tough competition. Dropping down to make the bantamweight main event, Ellis brings the kind of road toughness and been-there composure that makes a veteran spoiler so dangerous. He has nothing to lose walking into enemy territory, and fighters in that position tend to arrive loose and dangerous.

Where the Fight Is Won and Lost
Sengsavanh wants to press behind heavy combinations and hunt the takedown into his arm-triangle, the path that produced most of his wins. Ellis wants to use his experience and physicality to keep it standing, weather the early pressure, and drag the hometown man into the deep water a veteran of many wars knows well. If Sengsavanh gets it to the mat and threatens the neck, the night tilts his way. If Ellis makes him work and lands the heavier shots late, the main event could get very interesting.
Don't Miss It
A rising RUF finisher against a road-tested veteran spoiler is exactly the kind of main event a card called LEGENDS deserves. RUF 70: LEGENDS takes over the legendary Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix on Saturday, August 29, 2026. Who leaves Phoenix with the win?
